Farewell to an album designer

The main reason I became a graphic designer was my love for rock and roll, and for the mysterious and wondrous album art that usually accompanied the music. Sadly, album art is a fading medium, but it’s still why I prefer buying CDs to downloading digital music. Storm Thorgerson was the graphic designer behind many of the craziest, surreal albums of the past 40 years. We can thank him for the iconic album art of Led Zeppelin, the Cranberries, Pink Floyd, Muse, The Mars Volta, the Scorpions, and many other artists. Storm passed away last week at age 69. Here is my tribute to Storm with a collection of some of my favorite album covers he created during his career. Thanks for the inspiration, Storm!
